Overview

Everyone who works with food has a responsibility for safeguarding the health of consumers to ensure the food they serve or sell is safe to eat.  With increasing public, media and legislative scrutiny, food businesses need to get it right first time, every time.  This course will ensure that anyone who works where food is cooked, prepared or handled understands their role in maintaining food safety.

  • Microbiological hazards
  • Food poisoning and its control
  • Contamination hazards and controls
  • Introduction to HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point)
  • Personal hygiene
  • Food premises and equipment
  • Food pests and pest control
  • Cleaning and disinfection
  • Food safety enforcement

Assessment

Multiple choice exam.

Duration

3 days. The next course will take place on 27th Jan, 3rd and 10th Feb 2025 from 9am to 5pm.

Certification

Highfield Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering.

Cost

£220 plus VAT (includes lunch and refreshments).

Venue

NLTG’s Vocational Centres of Excellence in Accrington, Oldham and Bury, or other venues across the North West. Numbers permitting, this course can be delivered on company premises.
