North Lancs Training Group (NLTG) are celebrating a decade of supporting and sponsoring the Primetime Netball Summer League in Hyndburn.

Taking place at Accrington Academy, the league comprises three divisions, with 27 teams competing on a Monday evening from across East Lancashire and the Ribble Valley, with seven players per team.

NLTG’s very own ‘Northern Warriors’ team currently sit joint forth in Division Two, having won five of their six games so far.

Managing Director of NLTG, Gareth Lindsay, was a special visitor to the Primetime Netball Summer League, as he presented the league with a special sponsorship cheque for £500, as NLTG continue their longstanding support.

The renewed sponsorship deal continues NLTG’s work in the community having supported many local initiatives including the Hyndburn parkrun and the Hyndburn Food Pantry, as well as getting involved in many local events such as the #AmazingAccrington Soapbox Challenge.

Gareth Lindsay, Managing Director of NLTG, said: “We are proud to be celebrating a decade of supporting the Primetime Netball Summer League here in Hyndburn.

“Leagues like this are fantastic for the local community, both for getting people physically active and also for mental wellbeing. This is something which fits very well with our ethos at NLTG, as the health and wellbeing of our employees is something which we value very highly and support regularly through various initiatives.

“It has been great to come down and meet some of the players and to hand over our latest sponsorship cheque of £500 which will go towards supporting the league once again this year.”

Jill Keightley, Chairperson of Primetime Netball League, said: “I just want to thank North Lancs Training Group for their generous donations. Without the donations we would struggle to run the league, because they go towards subsidising the funds for the girls, while the sponsorship will also go towards purchasing a memorial cup.”

Penny Thompson, Apprenticeship Manager at NLTG and a player in the league, commented: “We have been playing in and sponsoring the Primetime Netball League for over 10 years now at Accrington Academy which offers a fantastic venue with four netball courts.  Playing in the league is great for meeting new people, being outside, working as a team and promoting good mental health.

“There’s loads of opportunities for anybody to join us and play netball, so come along and have a go!”
