NLTG Apprenticeship Tutor, Graham Cornwell, said:
“Exceptional individuals like Phil are a rare find in the world of Apprenticeships, where dedication and passion for one’s craft can set the stage for remarkable success. Phil’s accomplishments and the invaluable role he plays in the team at Plumbs, is a testament not only to his skills as an apprentice but of his transformative force within the organisation.
During his Level 2 Furniture Manufacturing Apprenticeship, Phil’s commitment shone brightly, leaving a lasting mark on various facets of the company. Despite facing overwhelming personal challenges and health issues, he not only completed his Apprenticeship but did so with a distinction. Phil’s ability to rise above difficulties showcases not only his skillset but also his resilience and determination.
Moving forward, Phil has continued to excel by progressing onto his Level 3 Advanced Upholstery Apprenticeship in September 2023, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to his personal and professional growth. Phil’s impact extends beyond his own accomplishments as he regularly plays a pivotal role in mentoring and supporting newer Apprentices, generously sharing his upholstery, and sewing skills and knowledge. His willingness to guide others reflects not only his mastery of the craft but also his dedication to the success of his team.”
The NLTG Award judges acknowledged Phil’s transformative impact and stated: “Phil is an outstanding apprentice who clearly showcases the positive impact that Apprenticeships can have on individuals of all ages.”
Well done on everything you have achieved Phil! We wish you the best of success at Plumbs.
