Royal Oak have been hand crafting traditional and contemporary furniture in the Yorkshire Dales for over 30 years and produce some of the finest furniture to be found.
Our Craftsmen continue the centuries old tradition of choosing, understanding and fashioning timber to produce truly unique pieces of furniture which celebrate the beauty of wood.
Only the best quality oak is used, originating from environmentally managed woodlands where sustainability is a prime concern. As well as oak, which comes in a variety of colours and finishes, from natural clean oak to rich, deep and characterful Jacobean hand-planed oak, we use a variety of hardwoods including walnut, ash and maple.

• Shadowing a cabinet maker
• Learn all aspects from the Oak logs to final finishing
• Assist with deliveries when required
• Being trained on a variety of machines including tools
• Working towards Health & Safety guidelines
• Progressing onto being set own task and working toward hand crafted furniture

• Keen interest in this career
• Willing to learn
• Punctual

• Attention to detail
• Previous work experience dealing with wood is preferred but not essential
• Be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team
• Full clean driving licence is preferred
• Physically fit due to some heavy lifting of furniture
