Company History

Martin Moore & Co was founded in 1975 by Martin, a design engineer, and his wife Barbara. They had returned to the UK from travelling abroad and bought a rundown Victorian property in need of renovation and began to design and build furniture for themselves in their basement.

Before long, their passion and skills at crafting handmade kitchen furniture turned into a thriving business that suited the Victorian, Georgian and Edwardian homes around their local area.

Martin initially contracted a manufacturer in the Yorkshire town of Hebden Bridge to supply his furniture until he decided to open his own workshop in Halifax in the year 2000.

Ever since we have gone from strength to strength making and supplying kitchen and bedroom furniture to the very top end of the market.

Martin Moore Manufacturing remains in the local area today and employs 26 full time employees at our site in Elland.

Currently celebrating his 48th year in business, Martin Moore continues to lead the way in both quality and style.
