Safeguarding We want all learners to feel safe so that they are able to learn. This means we have a commitment to the well-being of all our learners but especially to those who are aged under 18. We will do this by continually raising your awareness of potential risks to harm and informing you of how to get support if you need it. There are a number of useful sites available via NLTG’s Learner Hub, and below are just some of the sites that provide help, advice and Safeguarding training. Please click on the images to access the relevant site. The NSPCC website offers a variety of Safeguarding advice and comprehensive Safeguarding training. The CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Safety) website provides advice relating to, and the facility to report, online image concerns. This Lancashire Safeguarding Partnership site offers a range of free Safeguarding courses.
Prevent Duty and British Values We promote the Prevent duty and British Values throughout NLTG. We do so through the 4 values of; democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs. All learners will undertake training on the risks of radicalisation from extremist groups linked to terrorism and how to get support and help for any concerns of this nature. Online Safety We understand the importance and benefits of emerging technologies for learning and personal development. However, we also recognise that safeguards need to be in place to ensure you are kept safe. We ask all learners to agree to the safe use of IT and will strive to continually raise awareness of online risks.
Health and Safety NLTG has a legal and contractual duty to take all necessary steps to ensure you are safe at work and are covered by your employer’s liability insurance whilst on your training programme.
