Case Study – Zac Robinson Apprenticeship at Tiger Lounge, Accrington Name: Zac Robinson Company: Tiger Lounge Apprenticeship: Hospitality Team Member Level 2 Zac is a barman and trainee manager at the Tiger Lounge in Accrington. As well as training to become a manager, Zac’s duties also consist of serving drinks, changing barrels and to take stock orders. After hearing about NLTG’s Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship and looking into the course he decided that undertaking an Apprenticeship would be a great way to progress in his job role. Whilst completing his apprenticeship Zac said the main thing, he has learnt is his increased knowledge of his job role. This knowledge has helped him to get qualifications in both Food Safety Level 2 and Personal License Holder. We asked Zac what his favourite things about his job/qualification is, to which was he said, “I really enjoy the social side of working in the hospitality industry, implementing the skills learnt during my Apprenticeship into my job role and of course the cocktail making.” Not only is Zac a brilliant barman and manager in training, but he is also a successful ju-jitsu fighter! NLTG helped Zac sort out some funding to get to the Belgium Open Event, where he did everyone at NLTG proud with a really good performance. In his most recent event at the Welsh Open, Zac managed to win a Gold medal and 2 Silver medals. In the future when Zac has more experience, he would love to own a bar putting the skills he has learnt to good use, alongside progressing in his ju-jitsu and hopefully making it to the Olympics.
