Case Study – Ben Marsh Traineeship at Fleetwood Car Centre Name: Ben Marsh Company: Fleetwood Car Centre Job Role: Administration Assistant Ben started his Traineeship at Fleetwood Car Centre in March but only completed 1 week prior to lockdown due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Since then, Ben has engaged in remote learning for 14 weeks throughout lockdown covering areas such as maths, English, safeguarding, equality & diversity, British values and more. He was keen to get back into the workplace so, once restrictions started to be lifted, procedures were put in place for this to be carried out safely. Fleetwood Car Centre completed a COVID-19 risk assessment, implemented new hygiene practices, a one-way system and social distanced procedures. Ben completed a COVID-19 online awareness course and a new induction to discuss the new safety measures that had been put in place. Ben said, “It has been an easy process to get back in the workplace. I’m glad to be back in work and have the opportunity to work towards achieving the Business Administration Apprenticeship. Completing the COVID-19 course has helped me to identify risks and understand the procedures I need to follow to protect myself and others such as more frequent hand washing, use of hand sanitiser, social distancing etc.” David, Fleetwood Car Centre General Manager, said, “The process has been straight forward and an easy transition during the uncertain times presented due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Bringing Ben back into a safe workplace has been seamless and straight forward.”
