Emergency First Aid at Work

Overview

All organisations are required, by law, to ensure they have a sufficient number of employees who hold a valid First Aid Certificate. This 1-day course is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments, such as small offices. Combining theory with practical skills training using dummies and first aid equipment, the course provides an introduction to first aid in the workplace, the roles and responsibilities of a first aider and basic first aid skills for adult casualties. It covers incident assessment, managing casualties in a variety of situations, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). The course content meets the requirements of both the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and the Health & Safety Executive Northern Ireland (HSENI).
