When Sheryar first heard about NLTG, he considered that it was an alternative route of further education and decided to take the leap and join the Bury Study Programme. When he started the programme, he wasn’t sure if he had made the right decision but once he met Roy, his tutor, and he showed him everything from making a CV to what it would be like to learn in his classroom, he felt like he was meant to be here.

As his time at NLTG progressed, Sheryar gained a lot more confidence and worked hard to build a routine, manage his time better and improve his communication skills. He has been working hard in all his classes and striving towards his Level 2 Employability Skills and Functional Skills Maths qualifications.

When asked what he enjoys most about his experience at NLTG Sheryar said, “The people. I’ve made lots of new friends who set a good example for me and the staff are all really welcoming, and it feels like you can talk to them on a personal level.”

Looking to the future, Sheryar would like to be guided by the staff at NLTG to find the best career that is suitable for him.
